One of our many LIFE groups - consider joining one soon!
A Community of Grace
In a Life Group you will experience a group of friendly people who are
genuinely glad you are there. Laughter, friendship, caring,
authenticity, and getting to know each other are important aspects of
our times together. We are all “in process” so you
don’t need to feel like you have to have your act together to get
involved. Life groups are “safe places” where people can be
themselves and know that they are accepted and believed in, but also
challenged and helped to grow.
A Community of Growth
God loves and accepts us right where we are, but He loves us too much to let us stay there. He is guiding us all on a continual growth process towards maturity in Christ. Life Groups contribute to this process through:
- The interactive study and application of Biblical principles to our lives. Whether we are studying a book of the Bible or a book on marriage, our desire is to spur one another on to be “doers of the Word”.
- Applying the “one another” commands of scripture. It is often only as we get to know one another in the context of a small group that we feel safe enough to get involved in each other’s lives the way scripture admonishes us to do (encouraging, bearing one another’s burdens, speaking the truth in love, etc.)
- Loving accountability. We all need people who will help us to apply truth to our lives.
A Community of Mission
Scripture tells us that God blesses us in order that we can be a blessing to others. Life groups help us to be that blessing through:
- Serving one another in the group and in the church. This may be as simple as providing a meal for someone in need or it could involve helping a single parent with household repairs or cleaning.
- Community service. Each group is encouraged to be involved in several projects a year. This could involve anything from helping to clean a section of highway to providing a meal for a large group of international students.
- Adopting one of our missionaries. Each Life Group has a
missionary that they help support through prayer, encouragement, and in
any other way possible. An example of this is one group who organized
sending Christmas presents to our missionaries.
